Regulator show-causes Palghar college charging max fees in state
The
state college fee regulator has issued a showcause notice to Vedantaa Institute
of Medical Sciences in Palghar for charging Rs 14 lakh as fees for a year as
opposed to the Rs 6 lakh it has recommended.
The
institute, which began classes this year, is the first in the state to register
as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 2013, meaning it is
for-profit. It is charging the highest fee among all the private colleges in
the state.
