AICTE’s merger boost for ailing engg colleges
In
its 2018-19 rulebook for approval process, the apex body governing technical
institutes has provisioned for merger of institutes run by trusts/societies
with the same objective — of imparting education—after an approval from the registrar
of societies/charity commissioner. The AICTE has put on hold its earlier
decision to shut down institutes with zero enrolment for five years.

Hand Book Reference | 17.12 @ In case
of merger of Trust/ Society/ Company, the transferor Trust/ Society/ Company
should transfer its Land, assets and Infrastructure by a registered
transfer/conveyance deed in the name of the transferee Trust/ Society/ Company.
