Google Search’s new lite mode will load pages
4 times faster on Indian 2G networks
Google Search Product Manager Hiroto Tokusei
said the results in Indonesia showed a four times faster page load and 80% less
data consumption.
Google
has announced the launch of its Search Lite feature, that allows a much
faster load of search links, in India from this month.
“The new feature will come into play whenever
a mobile user is access search results from a very slow network. Google will
capture the page and make it lighter,” Hiroto Tokusei, Search Product Manager,
Google Inc, said in a telephonic interview.
Google has already tested the feature in
Indonesia, which has networks very similar to India. Tokusei said the results
there showed a four times faster page load and 80 per cent less data
consumption.
