TECH-A-BYTE @ Google launches audiobooks, integrates it
with Assistant
You can now
buy audiobooks on the Google Play Store. There are books ranging from Jhumpa
Lahiri’s Unaccustomed Earth, to Astrophysics For People In A Hurry by Neil de Grasse
Tyson, to Chetan Bhagat’s One Night At The Call Center and many others. Users
can listen to them on their Android, iOS devices, or on the web, as well as on
devices that have Google Assistant. There is an option for a free preview of
the book to ensure that you like the storyline and enjoy listening to the
narrator’s voice. For now, the Google Assistant integration with audiobooks is
available on Android phones and smart speakers globally in English, the company
said.
