Now, online study material for Class 5, 8 scholarship aspirants

Mumbai : In order to help students prepare for the Class 5 and Class 8 scholarship exams in the state, the education department will provide online study material and practise question sets.

The material for the exams has recently been uploaded on the DIKSHA mobile application, a platform offering teaching-learning material to students, teachers and parents.

“We have recently uploaded a lot of content for scholarship exams on the app. Students can learn important concepts and can also practice for the final exams with the help of the resources that have been provided here,” said an official from Maharashtra State Council of Education Research and Training (MSCERT), which conducts the exams.

Recently, the state’s publishing bureau, Balbharti, had also uploaded audiovisual content on the application.

“The idea is to not just provide study material, but also teaching resources for various classes and examinations under the state board with the help of which teachers can teach effectively,” said the official.

Teachers said that it is a welcome move, but had to be adequately publicised. “We were not aware of this until now. It would be nice to share this with students and parents. The department should publicise the initiative more widely so that more students take benefit,” said a teacher from an Andheri-based school.

The material on the application includes videos, documents and interactive content with the help of which key concepts have been explained to the students. Students can also download this and read it offline later.
