NCPCR releases national report on safe and secure school environment – Library Recommendation is also there

On Thursday, with the help of around 2 lakh school students from 26,071 schools across India, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) released a report on "safe & secure school environment".

It took almost 2 years for the students to inspect & submit the reports from twelve different states.
This manual is a compilation of various existing guidelines, circulars, notifications, government orders on Safety and Security related issues in schools issued from time to time. National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has prepared this manual with guidance from an Expert Group constituted by the Commission.

In this manual they had also given their recommendations for the library

How safe are you in Virtual (Cyber) World?

There is no question www (world wide web or Internet or virtual world is one of the most excellent resources available to recent generations.  But for every coin, there are two sides we have to acknowledge, in short, the other side of the web world become exceptionally hazardous if you are uninformed of who lurks behind the scenes.

It is essential for each of us that we have to be internet-safe while surfing the web as professionals, students, young people, or senior citizens; they can be victims of internet scams, viruses, and ransomware attacks.

·         Password should be Strengthen
·         IT system should be updated
·         Multi-Level Authentication
·         Avoid Unsolicited emails, text message and phone calls
·         The device should keep away from kids and guests
·         Online Identity should be protected
·         Social Media usage in a mindful way
·         If you are a victim, then you should know the next process.

All should be careful and be cyber safe!!!!

Digital Deceit: Fake News, Artificial Intelligence, and Censorship in Educational Research

In the discipline of Education, students are often asked to research issues pertaining to curricula, pedagogy, educational information and theories. Pupils are using Internet and digital library searches to gain knowledge within public and private K-12 schools and within higher education. In this article, an Educational Librarian and an Education Professor outline their approach to educating all Faculty of Education students about using digital platforms in relation to unmasking fake news, artificial intelligence (AI) usage, and increasing Internet censorship.
