Small steps to greater productivity

Small steps to greater productivity

Maintain a routine: Putting a set of pre-determined everyday tasks in place structures the day for an employee and lets them focus better on unexpected challenges that call for more creative solutions.

Break them small: Breaking up a big task into tiny bits of manageable work will make it easier to complete it. The sense of accomplishment that comes from accomplishing a task will motivate an employee to move on to the next one.

Give yourself a treat: If you provide yourself with a treat for completing each task, you will find motivation to work harder. These treats should be things that make you feel better, like watching a Youtube video or eating a chocolate.

Take a break: Taking breaks periodically can help increase productivity. It may be helpful to use the break to stretch and walk around. Changing your surrounding can distract you from thinking about your lack of productivity, and may, in fact, help you work better later on.

Stretch a muscle: Building exercise into the work routine has shown to help reduce stress and ward off feelings of anxiety and depression.
