Local
Libraries Advancing Community Goals, 2016
ICMA
Issues Report on Libraries and Local Governments
ICMA (International City/County
Management Association), the Aspen Institute,
and the Public Library
Association (PLA) released a report, “Local Libraries Advancing Community
Goals, 2016,” which shares the results of a survey of nearly
2,000 local government leaders. It found that local governments see public
libraries as a key resource in supporting education and digital inclusion
goals.
It
offers three areas that would be good opportunities for libraries and local
governments to work together:
·
Collaborating on community priorities
·
Information sharing about community issues
·
Finding funding sources
