A hot option for website developers
What?
Bootstrap
is a front-end framework, developed with CSS, JavaScript and HTML, for
designing websites. Twitter Blueprint, as Bootstrap was initially called, was
developed by Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton at Twitter.
Who?
Some
website developers settle for run-of-the-mill, extensively-used Cascading Style
Sheets (CSS) codes, to save time.
There
are a few others who are so meticulous that they want to produce customised CSS
codes every time they design a website. They don’t mind the time and the cost
this entails.
There
is a third category of professionals which does not want to spend enormous
amount of time and money on creating customised codes or use standard CSS
templates. For them, Bootstrap is the answer.
Why?
It
has a grid system that is easy to use. It provides a basic styling framework
that incorporates most of the HTML elements, has an extensive list of styling
components, inbuilt javascript plugins and many readymade templates.
Other
advantages include good documentation with examples, demo for starters and wide
browser-compatibility.
It
is highly scalable and can be used for any volume of content. Most important of
all, it is an open source software and free.
Where?
It
can be used in mobile phones, laptops and desktops for designing websites.
