psyche-therapist, Sonera Jhaveri explains, “Sigmund Freud referred to OCD as
obsessional neurosis. He believed its roots lay in harsh, chas tising
toilet-training rituals which caused infantile neurosis which followed into
adulthood. But, others have argued that cultural, social and religious aspects
may contribute to certain beliefs, prompting the strong emotional reactions and
compensating behaviour of OCD sufferers.“
Teens with OCD could be overwhelmed by the idea that something
bad will happen to them or their loved ones.
