NCERT’s ePathshala app wins Digital India Award under Mobile App category

On Friday, Under the best Mobile App category, NCERT’s ePathshala app won the Digital India Award on February 22, 2019. Union Minister for Law and Justice, Electronics and IT, Dr Ravi Shankar Prasad gave the award at  Stein Auditorium, Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The award was received by Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT.

Union Human Resource Minister Prakash Javadekar congratulated the team.

The App has been made for circulating all educational E-resources including textbooks, audio, video, periodicals and a variety of other digital resources.

Its features include pinch, select, zoom, bookmark, highlight, navigate, share, listen to text using text to speech (TTS) apps and make notes digitally.

This app gives lots of space to carry books in mobile by the students.

ABOUT THE DIGITAL INDIA AWARD:

It’s the fifth edition of the Digital India award. The awards were given under the following categories:
  • Emerging Technology
  • Best Mobile App
  • Exemplary Online Service
  • Open Data Champion
  • Web Ratna – Ministry/Department
  • Web Ratna – State/UT
  • Web Ratna – District
  • Outstanding Digital Initiative by a Local Body.
There have been four edition of the Digital India Award. It started from 2010 and continued in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
