Dr Shakuntala
Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) to offer
special library to students
LUCKNOW: Now the differentially abled
students of Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU)
will have access to an advanced digital library, designed especially to meet
the needs of the special children.
With a collection of more than 30,000 books, the library will offer facilities like a braille section offering books on various subjects, a talking studio and an audio-visual laboratory, ramps, special chairs and other differentially abled students friendly facilities.
“A ‘talking studio’ laboratory for
visually impaired students will be made in the library, where students will be
able to hear the book, magazine or any literature with the help of a special
computer software. Also, the library will offer an audio-visual laboratory
which doesn’t require a student to search the book for hours, he or she can
visit the laboratory and as per the request the text will be played,” said
DSMNRU spokesperson DM Singh.
He said the library will be easily accessible for the differentially abled students, as it will have ramps, specially designed chairs and digitised collection which will help them to access the books available with a click of a button.
