More BMC schools to have virtual classrooms
Mumbai: The municipal corporation is
planning to increase the number of its schools which have virtual classrooms.
A
survey conducted to identify schools for this purpose has selected 202 schools.
This will benefit student in schools where there is shortage of teachers.
While
currently there are 480 BMC schools which have a virtual classroom facility,
with another 202 schools, the number of municipal schools with virtual
classrooms will add up to 682. With this, more than half of the civic body’s
1200 schools will have virtual
classrooms.
A
tender will soon be floated to set things in process. Classes are telecast in
these virtual classrooms from the BMC’s centre in Dadar. Training programmes
for teachers are also conducted from the studio.
On
Teacher’s Day, for instance, an interaction was held between BMC school
children and senior education department
officials through virtual classrooms.
