The department on
Tuesday issued a government resolution (GR) outlining the advantages of these
programmes.
The
GR has listed the various goals to be achieved through the implementation of
these programmes. Among the list of objectives is the creation of a
teacher-friendly administration, provision of technological assistance to
promote self-learning among teachers, and making available training on demand
for teachers.
About
the out-of-school survey, the GR said that through the July 4 survey the state
plans to achieve 100% enrolment and use Aadhar cards and biometric attendance
to ensure students are in school.
Schools
had also raised concerns about the introduction of competency tests which would
mean three extra tests for the students. According to Nandkumar, the tests will
help teachers identify students who score below 40% and help them in holding modules
for these students at the school-level to improve learning levels.
The
department has proposed group discussions to increase awareness about its
schemes. The GR said: “There is a need to study all the government
resolutions. The best way to do this is through group discussions. To begin with
a conference must be held for centre heads in each district, principals and
officials. Similar conferences and discussions must be held for the teachers as
well.“
