The Government of India, through its Union Budget
2020-2021, allocated Rs.6,000 for BharatNet, to further increase broadband
connectivity in rural areas.
The govt vision is to provide digital connectivity
to all public institutions at the gram panchayat level, such as anganwadis,
government schools, etc.
The fiber to the home (FTTH) connection through
BharatNet will link 100,000-gram panchayats this year itself.
