Apply for an RTI request online - Mid Day Review

Apply for an RTI request online

The Right to Information Act, 2005, guarantees that you can access non-classified information about all government bodies in the country. And now, the cumbersome process of writing letters can also be avoided. Started in 2013, an online process allows you to request information about central government institutions through Rtionline.gov.in, under The Department of Personnel and Training.

What we like

You can submit a request, file an appeal and even track its status on the website. Payment of application fees (R10) is possible by net banking, credit and debit card. The portal is verified by Verisign and uses a 128bit encryption, making it secure and safe to use.

What we don’t like

The website can’t be used to request information from any of the state governments. The design is outdated and needs a serious makeover. We also don’t like that even after registering, you are required to fill personal details each time.

LOG ON TO: Rtionline.gov.in
