All the libraries have an eclectic collection of books ranging from 1980s’ pulp fiction, books in Hindi, Gujarati and Punjabi, to philosophy and self-help books

Welcome to the Street Library, made up of four unmanned bookshelves next to Vidyanjali High School. The cataloguing is random: I notice a battered copy of The Princess Diaries sitting pretty beside a hefty tome of Anatomy of Criticism. My curiosity is piqued.
