Maharashtra Medical Council is set to make amendments to the Medical Council of Maharashtra Act, 1965
The MCC reportedly plans to abolish exit bonds for medical students and also bring all private hospitals, clinics and health centers under the Council. This move is aimed to increase the accountability of hospitals and doctors, and also increase responsibility from the side of the students.
If the amendment is approved, Maharashtra will be the only state to abolish the fine system for this. There has been a dire need of doctors who can provide quality treatment to those in the rural areas.
This proposed amendment will act as a push for the same.
