Six schools in the city have received the
British Council International School Award (ISA) for the year 2015-16. The
awarded schools are Vivek Vidyalaya, Goregaon, Utpal Shanghvi School, Juhu,
Bombay Cambridge, Andheri West and East, Surajba Vidyamandir, Jogeshwari and St
Joseph's High School, Panvel.
The ISA
supports schools in embedding international learning into the curriculum by
providing global bench marking standards and accrediting schools that achieve
them. ISA was was introduced in India in 2004. “Schools are judged extensively
on the work they do beyond curriculum. We had submitted seven projects and
leveraged our links with schools abroad to showcase the exchange of ideas in
learning,“ said Suresh Nair, principal, Vivek Vidyalaya.
Over 500
schools in the country have received the award this year.The awards were handed
out to the school heads at a ceremony in Delhi on July 8.
