A 120-year-old library in rural Maharashtra shows that books aren’t dead in the digital age!!!!

Many scholars are talking about the paperless economy but see the power of print & specially printed books that still a decade-year-old library in rural Maharashtra run successfully in today’s digital age.

The library that this dedicated team run was opened in October 1898 by King Balasaheb, at the insistence of his son Annasaheb. Initially, it was set up in the palace in the princely state of Kurundwad and ministers and courtiers were asked to contribute to its growth.

In 1915, Annasaheb who had assumed the kingship in 1907, decided to move the library into a public space in order to make it more accessible to the public, and in April 1956, the library was registered as a public trust.
