Setting up of Complaint Box in all
Primary, Higher Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of State @
Maharashtra Govt GR
All schools in the state will have to
set up a complaint box on their premises for students to file anonymous
complaints regarding their safety . The schools will have to address the
complaints every week.
A
government resolution issued by the state education department on Friday states
that the complaint box will have to be set up by all schools at a prominent
place on the campus or near the school entrance so that it is accessible to
all. “To ensure security of students in schools, there has arisen a need to set
up complaint boxes. While some schools have already set them up, all schools
must follow suit,“ said the government resolution.
The
school authorities will have to open the box at the end of the last working day
of the week in the presence of the principal, parent or student representative
and preferably police personnel.“The school must seek police help if a
complaint is of a serious nature,“ says the resolution.
In
case of a complaint of sexual abuse by a teacher or student, the school has to
inform the women redressal cell or school management which must decide the next
course of action.
