Happy to inform you today, I conducted a Virtual Session with MIT WPU for their LIS Professionals. The session details as follows:

Theme of the Session | Smart Tools to Manage Information Need in Library

Organized by | Central Library of MIT WPU Pune

Participants | All LIS professional of MIT Campus all over the Pune region

Time | 12.00 pm to 2.00

About the Session

The session divided into two parts, the first part is dealing with Smart Research Tools, and the second part is to deal with Other Innovative Tools.

Under Smart Research & Reference Tools

Smart Research Tools

We had discussed different tools that can use for research and reference service in the Library. We also talked about Google Search & Google Advance Search can be handy for the LIS Professional in their profiles.

Smart Reference Tools

Google News & News Aggregators tool can use for Current Awareness Service in LIS domain, and how we can use Google Alerts for SDI Service in Library Domain.

Other Innovative Tools

In the second part, we had discussed Innovative tools, for example.

To check the validity of the images, we can use Reverse Image Search

How to store data in the cloud with the help of Google Drive, Google One and One Drive

For taking feedback from the user the tools such as Google Form, Type Form & Monkey Survey

Discussed the Open Access movement for DOAJ, DOAB & DOAR

For managing e-books tools such as Calibre E-Book Manager

On open education materials, we discussed the Open Education Resources (OER)

At last, we talked about MHRD & Other Resource, how we can use it for our professional purpose.
