Maharashtra Govt GR @
Criteria for International School
The state has called for applications
from 100 regional language schools which would want to be part of its pilot to
provide an international curriculum. Ten of these schools will be groomed to be
master trainers and handhold others into the process from June 2019.
A government resolution (GR) on
Thursday said the state, throughout next month, will select the schools on the
basis of various criteria. Simultaneously, the state will shortlist teachers
for the first 10 schools. Mumbai and Pune will not be part of the first 10
schools. “Since there are model schools in these cities, they can be used as
guides and benchmarks for other schools,” the GR said. The schools will be
provided training and assistance through state machinery and a group of experts
in international curriculum. Schools hoping to make it to the list of 100 will
need at least 300 students in class I-V and a total capacity of 1,000 students.
Teacher appointments will be done through workshops. TNN
