West Bengal Library Service to digitize rare books
KOLKATA: Rare books across libraries
of Bengal would now have a digital copy. Thanks to the West Bengal Public
Library Network has taken up an initiative to make e-books out of all the rare
books available in the state across several libraries.
Targeted at helping academicians, researchers and students, the process of digitization will be done with assistance from the Mass Education and Extension and Library Service Department of the state government
The digital repository of the
department will allow users to search through a wide variety of book
collections where one can also look a specific book from the search option that
is available.
The website of this department has come up with a series of other options to make looking up e-books easier. Search options will also allow a reader to look up books on the basis of subject.
The Centre for Development of Advance Computing has also helped the state public library network in the initiative to digitize books.
